Veridis

Supporting the OpenPGP standard, Veridis is positioned to be a leader in providing trusted solutions and services for improving efficiency and confidentiality in the way people communicate with their PCs, PDAs or next generation mobile phones. Veridis is developing a range of user-friendly and state-of-the-art solutions and products for individuals and corporate users, allowing them to authenticate their contacts, to secure their messaging, and to enhance their trust in e- and m-business. The complicated process of adopting PKI-based solutions in an organization and the high cost of ownership have been obstacles to many and Veridis solutions will clear those burdens. Our solutions are conceived to complement and collaborate with existing security offerings from major security software developers. Veridis trusted solutions will be disclosed later in details and available in Q3, 2001. Veridis security products will be available soon and start with the following software (others will follow shortly):

OpenPGP products

FileCrypt ®

The software provides automated encryption for secure e-business. FileCrypt is an encryption application available on Windows, Unix and Mac OS. FileCrypt is fully scriptable and mainly intended for webmasters or developers to enable security and authentication between servers or enterprises legacy systems. FileCrypt also includes symmetric encryption, keyring management, creation of customizable key pairs, key revocation, key posting to worldwide keyservers, file wiping and many other useful features...

FileCrypt ® SDK

Available as a Software Development Kit (SDK), FileCrypt SDK can be used on different platforms (Windows, Mac OS and different UNIX implementations). It contains all functions necessary to build any e-commerce application, which needs security features:

  • The OpenPGP part in FileCrypt SDK contains the code needed to use the OpenPGP Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Amongst others, it contains the functions to create key pairs, to encrypt and sign documents and messages, to certify keys. It also allows communication with the other elements of the OpenPGP PKI such as posting keys to a key server as well retrieving keys from a key server.

  • FileCrypt SDK also contains calls to PGP/MIME functions, specifically intended to achieve secure e-mail messaging according to the PGP/MIME standard as described in the IETF RFC 2015

Public Keys Repository

OpenKey Server 1.3 - (now running at http://www.keyserver.net)
Originally developed by Highware, OpenKeyServer (OKS) is a secure and reliable repository for public keys complying with the OpenPGP format. With an architecture composed of several inter-communicating modules, OKS can grow to hold millions of keys. It can be accesses though different interfaces: http, LDAP, smtp, etc. OKS runs a free-text search engine allowing you to search for names containing specific substrings. It has been designed to keep its disk footprint to a minimum and to provide reduced processing times in order to handle large numbers of requests. OKS is also entirely compatible with all other OpenPGP keyservers and integrates seamlessly in any network of keyservers. The recovery system, which comes with OKS allows restoring keyrings after a system crash. It is available for FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris and Mac OS X. OKS is distributed free for non-commercial uses.
