RFC2440 Interoperability Testing

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) OpenPGP working group is preparing RFC2440 (OpenPGP) to be advanced from PROPOSED to DRAFT status. The OpenPGP Alliance is collaborating with implementers of RFC2440 to conduct Interoperability testing to be held at Qualcomm's San Diego facilities in early summer of 2001.

The goal of the test is to insure multiple implementations of OpenPGP both conform to the requirements of the RFC2440, that the requirements of RFC2440 conform to the requirements of implementers, and most importantly that the implementations successfully exchange encrypted and authenticated messages.

Testing is expected to include exchange of encrypted and authenticated files, the establishment of IPSec and TLS sessions using RFC2440 and the exchange of encrypted and authenticated email using the new IETF protocol succeeding RFC2015.

A detailed schedule and plan for the interoperability test will be posted here, or you may contact the IETF OpenPGP WG chair, John W Noerenberg II, for more information.
